How does Blinkjoy help with dry eye symptoms?

Each silicone eye cover has curved openings that envelop the eyes to ensure a complete moisture seal around the eyes. This creates a humid microenvironment preventing excessive evaporation of tears which minimizes symptoms of dry eye, ultimately improving ocular health. Additionally, by creating a complete seal around the eyes, the silicone eye covers create a barrier against drafts, wind, dust, and dry air which greatly reduces inflammation and dry eye symptom flare ups.

Care Instructions

How do I maximize efficacy of my mask?

We recommend following these steps each time you wear your Blinkjoy mask:

1.) Clean your eyes: Gently clean face and eyelids to remove dirt.

2.) Clean the silicone eye cups: Wash silicone moisture chambers with soap and water.

3.) Hydrate your eyes: Apply preservative free eye drops or nighttime ointment.

4.) Adjust chambers and mask: Adjust silicone cups to fully seal in moisture. Adjust the length of mask elastic strap to ensure comfortable fit.

Should I wash the silicone eye cups prior to use?

Our silicone eye cups are made from 100% medical grade silicone which prevents bacterial buildup. However we do recommend cleaning each silicone eye chamber with soap and water prior to each use to remove dirt or debris.

How should I care for my mask?

We recommend hand washing your mask before first use and periodically over time. You can also wash the mask in a washing machine in the fabric bag it came with. Just take out the silicone pieces and you should be good to go. We recommend washing on gentle with cold water and a mild or hypoallergenic detergent. Then air dry for about 24 hours (do not put in the dryer).

Common Questions

What should I expect for my first night?

Thousands of customers have experienced exceptional dry eye relief from the Blinkjoy Moisture Retaining Sleep Mask, although sleeping with your mask may take some time to get used to.

We recommend wearing it at night for at least two weeks to comfortably fall asleep, and stay asleep, with your mask on. Make sure to fit the mask snugly around your head (not too loose, not too tight) and adjust the eyecups to rest comfortably over each eye. Apply drops or dry eye ointment to maximize nighttime hydration and set yourself up for restorative sleep.

If you experience severe dry eye, Blinkjoy can help. Even if your mask takes some getting used to, stick with it…your eyes will be happy you did.

What if my eyes still feel dry?

We always recommend applying dry eye gel drops or nighttime ointment before wearing your Blinkjoy mask at night. Our goal is to create a humid microenvironment for the eyes and prevent excessive evaporation of tears to minimize symptoms of dry eye. However, tear deficiency is common for those with dry eye, which means you may not have enough tears to begin with. Applying drops or ointment prior to wearing your mask will help alleviate this problem and maximize the benefits of sleeping with your Blinkjoy mask.

Will I experience red marks or puffy eyes?

In rare cases for those with extremely sensitive skin, wearing a moisture mask may cause irritation or red marks after initial use. Many customers have resolved this by a) loosening the mask to ensure it is not too tight, and b) applying a gentle eye moisturizing cream or balm prior to use to protect the sensitive skin area around the eyes.

Will I find sleeping with a mask uncomfortable?

If this is your first time sleeping with an eye mask at night, it may take some getting used to. If this applies to you, we have heard success from many customers that slowly increasing wear time was beneficial. Start with an hour your first night, then two, and so on. After one to two weeks, you should have no problem sleeping through the night with your Blinkjoy mask. Even if your mask takes some getting used to, stick with it…your eyes will be happy you did.

What if I am a side sleeper?

Your Blinkjoy mask will work best if you sleep on your back or partially on your side. Changing your preferred sleeping position may seem like a daunting task, but we've heard success from others that make small gradual changes and use lots of strategically placed pillows.

Should I wash the eyecups prior to use?

Our silicone eye cups are made from 100% medical grade silicone which prevents bacterial buildup. However we do recommend cleaning each silicone eye chamber with soap and water prior to each use to remove dirt or debris.

Yes, every night.

I had horrible chronic red eye for years. I started using this silicone mask nightly and I haven’t had an outbreak in over a year. It’s like a rainforest of moisture in each eye cup. It blocks light completely and it is completely customizable for your face shape and head size. Yes, I use it every night and I take it everywhere I go.

Highly recommend

I began using the Blinkjoy mask about 2 weeks ago. Right away, I could see It was easier and more comfortable than my old mask. It stays on all night and is simple to use during the day if I want to rest for a few minutes. The dry eye coverage is more comprehensive and gentle at the same time. There is no pressure on the eye. The relief is tangible and I love that I have not the slightest adverse reaction to the materials. I never feel tempted to avoid wearing this mask. This is a great design and I highly recommend it. Thank you!

A low-tech miracle!

I've used a PM Ointment for about 20 years now, and for some reason, it no longer lasts thru the night, and a couple times per month when I wake up, I'll tear my cornea [very painful]. So, I’ve become pretty desperate. When I first got my Blinkjoy I thought I'd been had, so I set it aside for about 2 weeks before I gave it a try. As a former c-pap user, I wasn't sure I could tolerate anything on my face, and it certainly didn't look like it was anything that could help me. I was wrong on both counts. There was zero adjustment to wearing the headpiece: it’s very comfortable on my side or on my back, and the silicone cups WORK! I wake up and my eyes are very moist and so comfortable. I think it is possibly going to save my vision. Two thumbs up for the Blinkjoy device!

Happy Eyes with my Blinkjoy!

This mask that was recommended to me by my eye surgeon is a gamechanger for me in 3 areas. 1. Just great light blockage 2. Keeps moisture in my eyes at night so I wake up refreshed 3. Keeps pressure off my eyes
The mask is very comfortable, I love that it comes with 2 sets of cups so I can clean one and always have the other set handy. The silicone cups are soft and flexible so very comfy on my eyes. Blinkjoy delivers all of my criteria. I am a light sleeper so need complete blackout from light = check. I have dry eyes and don't fully close my eyes at night, so I wake up with very dry eyes - keeps my eyes moist = check. I am a side/stomach sleeper and often have my face (eyes buried in the pillow) just had cataract surgery last month, all the weight of my head on my eyes is a big no no, but Blinkjoy's construction alleviates that pressure with its soft ovals built into the mask. My primary goal was eye moisture and light, but I really needed a pressure relief after the surgery, naturally once my surgeon gave me the go ahead. It is easy to adjust to fit my head and easy to get on and off if I need to use the bathroom during the night. Bottom line is, I am happy with my purchase.

Best mask for dry eyes

I’ve tried several masks for my dry eyes. Spent hundreds of dollars trying to find one that is comfortable, not bulky, has a wide band, that does touch my eyes, and that helps my dry eyes. This mask is the best I’ve tried. It is comfortable and protects my eyes at night. It is the first mask I haven’t pulled off in my sleep. I’m very grateful.
